These habanero seedlings are my greatest and only success growing something from seed. I have some basil, too, but it is looking rough since I last pruned it, which I had to do since it was growing into a light. At any rate, the basil has been downgraded to not quite a failure just as the habanero seedlings are starting to take off. Nothing seems to keep the aphids away for long, though, so I have to hunt them and squish them by hand.
I am not very good at taking care of plants that start as seeds. These hot pepper seedlings have been suffering under my care for the entire summer and now into fall. I'm pretty sure they should be much bigger by now. Varieties failing to grow include Devil's Tongue, Trinidad Scorpion, Black Pearl, Ghost, and maybe Habanero. They all seem to be doing better now that I've given them food.
This little oak tree was growing behind a bush in front of my mother's house. I dug it up and put it in a pot and later swapped the front yard dirt for potting soil. It used to get direct sun, but now it lives under a florescent light. I'm not sure it has changed at all since digging it up, save for some burns on the leaves that I think came from evaporated liquid fertilizer.
